Placement Program - Information for Students

How to apply

School sourced placement. Note - numbers are strictly limited.

Step 1 - Check the eligibility criteria below.

Step 2 - Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) application. EOI applicants will receive a submission notification email.

Step 3 - Eligible students are provided with a list of the available placement positions and selection criteria.

Step 4 - Students select up to 3 placements to apply for. Each application will consist of:

  • Resume
  • Cover letter
  • Responses to Selection Criteria

Step 5 - Students submit all applications to the ICT Learning and Teaching Support team.

Step 6 - The ICT Learning and Teaching Support Team forwards applications to host organisations.

Step 7 - Selected applicants are invited to interviews by the host organisations.

Step 8 - Successful applicants discuss the timeline for their placement with their placement providers and accept and sign the student placement agreement.

Step 9 - Enrolment in ICT Placement Program is processed.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  • have completed at least 8 units (undergraduate and postgraduate respectively).
  • have achieved a credit (CR) grade or above in a minimum of 4 units.
  • have space in their degree to undertake a Placement Program unit.
  • be offered a placement with a host organisation after interview.
  • Successful applicants must complete Safe to Practise - Schedule A, Medical Check Form - Schedule B and Placement Plan - Schedule C, form and submit it to the CoSE PEP team (cose.pep@utas.edu.au)
